International Fortress League or IFL for short was the first league we took part on. We had no actual goal or anything, we were there to gain some experience. Allthough the name implies to large international league, there were only clans from scandinavia I think. IFL was fun to play as the matches were short, only one map and 30 minutes and the map selection process was very clever. Each team choosed a map that is put away from map set of three maps. The map that was left was played.

First three matches were country poule matches. There was four other clans in Finnish country poule and the clans were Frozen Death, Killing is Fun, Darkstars and Make Love Not War. Too bad that DS quit the league just before the start. Well, we had two very difficult opponents, FD and KiF. Our first match was against KiF and we lose it on 2fort (report). Allthough we had 5 men in def, we could not hold Primalco and Naglz as they punched through our defences. Next match was against FD and the map was always interesting Enclave. Well, our tactics sucked and FD rocked us over & out (report). We hade classical off/def configuration but FD concentrated more on mid-field play, next time we must do the same. The last match in country poule was against MLNW. We beat MLNW before in prac match so I was hoping we could won this one too. I was wrong and MLNW won with 10 - 0 in Shutdown_l as one of our def player went suddely afk without proper notice. That was very bad game for us... (report).

So we were last in our country poule, poor bastards. Well, the only way was up and we still had the chances to accomplish anything. Conference poule was all too easy as TCW quit from the league, and we got no-show victories from ARF and NFC. The only real opponent was MLNW which we beat on Stowaway_2 & Roasted_l (report). As we "won" all matches in conference poule, we were on out way to quarterfinals.

First and last quarterfinal match was against KiF and maps Bases2k1 and Well. At first, Bases was going fine but then they just overran us. Well was catastrophy and no more will we mention that episode of comedy (report).

IFL is over and we ranked 8th. Not too bad from a clan that had been up 4 months and started from nothing. Well, those no-show victories made it mostly but who cares... Next league where we join will be probably BWTFCL or IFL 2. At least now we have some experience from leagues... By the way, JURY won the IFL and FD was left to second prize, GG JURY !
